This has always been one of my favourite songs; I thought by the mid-80's they might wimp-out a bit, so i was well pleased to hear Fly On The Wall, with only 3 chords in the whole song, arranged in different ways for each section! This is a great performance and bootleg, with good sound. There's great guitar interplay and it's really cool to watch Malcolm playing the rhythm on this, as the powerchords etc. are wicked in this track. It sounded great on the record and it's even better live. Interesting that live, Angus doesn't let the intro chord ring out, he instead doubles up with Mal. Brian sounds great here; in this era (late '86) his voice was just on the cusp of changing somewhat, as was evident when then did Blow Up Your Video. Another thing about this; it's amusing at the start when Brian accidentally says "here's one of the next album" and you catch him turning round to the band laughing. One of the most underrated songs in the band's career, presumably due to the production and mix on the record which did not go down great, even though it worked well for this song I thought. MEAN! |

Thanks very much for a glimpse of just how good this show really was. For an audience recording this old, the quality is a treat. |
